The Louvre

The Louvre was the highlight of my trip. I don't know if you guys know how much I love art. Art history was my favorite class during my photography degree. When I was a child I aspired to be a painter,
but soon realized that I was not born with the talents of Leonardo Davinci, Monet and so on. One of the reasons why I went to school for photography was because to me, photography mirrors the art of painting with a camera instead of a paintbrush.
I can spend hours at the museum just taking in the beauty of paintings and sculptures. I am always so fascinating by what I am seeing and interpreting versus the person next to me and I always wonder what was going on through the painter's mind when he did this or what inspired him. I always have so many questions which I keep to myself since they're not there to answer or sometimes I'd rather guess and make up my own stories than knowing. I feel I can experience it without any bias or influence.
Being at the Louvre, seeing the famous Mona Lisa was surreal to me. I felt there she was looking directly in my eyes. I always experience art on a deeper level than most I'd say.
It was amazing being in the presence of all those paintings we had discussed in class and taking it all in.

Thank you for reading,
